  • acqua minerale naturale
Salute!

During the summer I love whooshing around with my bike, wind through my hair and shoeless feet.
Mantova has a good cycling routes network that lead me everywhere I need, but being in the middle of the Po Valley, a very flat valley, the hot season, which I love, can be hard on people like me who rely on their bike to go about places. The great heat and the lack of shade on the cycling routes mean that every time I come home I need to drink a lot of water to rehydrate. I find, however, that water is a bit “boring” as a drink. So, inspired by British cooking magazines and by Consuelo’s blog where you can find, on a regular basis, very interesting recipes about "detox water", I decided to make a refreshing drink.
Excellent to take away for a picnic, or to be served along with other drinks for an afternoon merenda in the garden. I drink it during the day, to fight the summer heat.
Here are the ingredients for 2 litres of scented water:
  • 1 organic lemon
  • 1 small organic cucumber
  • a bunch of fresh mint
  • a few slices of fresh ginger
  • 2 litres still water
Wash the lemon and cucumber and cut into slices. Rinse the mint under the tap.
Peel the ginger and slice it, then put it with the other ingredients in a pitcher, add the water and refrigerate until very cold.
After a couple of hours, but even better the next day, your water is ready for drinking.
If you wish you can also top up the water for a couple of days.
Cheers!
