  • uvetta, mirtilli rossi essiccati (opzionali)

When spring comes I crave a cool breakfast. Cereals with milk are the fastest and most satisfying breakfast that can be whipped up in the morning when you haven’t got much time to spare, and it’s perfect for me because recently I been often called as a substitute teacher in several schools, and it usually happens the very morning I’m needed at school. With a granola breakfast I can face the day with the right amount of energy and for me it is really important. Using high quality ingredients, needless to say, means that these preparation is excellent both from the nutritional point of view, and from the taste of the final result.
I like granola with dried fruit and nuts, with oats and just a touch of sweetness. I searched the web and I found the perfect recipe on Martha Stewart’s website. I changed it a bit to fit my personal taste, and now I have a couple of nice jars filled with great granola from which I get my morning breakfast. I must confess that I like this mixture of ingredients so much that I had it for lunch a couple of times!

For a 1 litre jar, and a 1/2 litre jar
  • 270 g of organic rolled oat
  • 220 g of unpeeled almonds
  • 80 ml of wildflower honey
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons mixed seeds (sunflower, sesame, flax, chia, pumpkin)
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt flakes (optional)
  • raisins, currants or dried cranberries (optional)
Preheat the oven to 150 ° C.
Coarsely chop the almonds then place them in a bowl and mix in the remaining ingredients except the dried fruits. Line a baking sheet with baking parchment and spread over the cereal mix. Bake for 15 minutes, then stir and bake again for another 15 minutes. Let cool in the tray, add the dried fruit of your choice if using, and store in airtight containers.

    Buona serata!
